NILAMBAZAR, July 30 - A single bamboo placed horizontally over rickety stilts is the only mode of communication to the Kaliganj Dak Bungalow here with the outside world.
One has to risk life and limb while walking over the precariously placed bamboo, which acts as a makeshift bridge from the waterlogged Kaliganj Dak Bungalow to the PWD road.
It goes without saying that the PWD has not taken any positive steps for development and proper upkeep of the concerned compound and connecting road of the Dak Bungalow.
Due to lack of proper drainage system in the area under reference, the Dak Bungalow and its adjacent staff quarters have been suffering from waterlogging since long, following which the plinth and foundation of the buildings have been adversely affected.
The people residing in the locality, besides different NGOs have demanded speedy steps to develop a scientific drainage system to cater to the needs of the area.
