GUWAHATI, Nov 19 � Brisk preparations are on to celebrate the platinum jubilee of Ma-Kali Puja Mahotsav at Gobaradal in Nalbari district with a five-day long programme from tomorrow at the premises of Sri Sri Ma-Kali Dewalaya with religious fervour and enthusiasm, a press release received here stated.
A strong celebration committee along with five sub-committees with Amiya Kalita as president, Keshab Barman as working president, Ganesh Chandra Haloi and Brazen Barman as vice presidents, Ramesh Baishya and Upen Barman as joint secretaries, Giridhar Barman, Tapan Barman and Nandaram Barman as assistant secretaries have been constituted for smooth conduct of the religious festival.
The first day�s programme will begin with hoisting of 75 flags along with the main insigne. The main insigne will be hoisted by Amiya Kalita, president of the celebration committee.
The other main programmes will be cultural procession, religious discourse which will be inaugurated by Tarali Sarma, national awardee singer. The celebration committee has also planned to publish a souvenir on this occasion and it will cover all aspects of the puja mahotsav. The souvenir will be released by prominent litterateur Dr Basanta Kumar Bhattacharyya.
It may be mentioned here that a cultural evening will be held on November 23. Other programmes of the Mahotsav include hoisting of religious flags, smriti tarpan, inauguration of puja mahotsav, Bhagawat paath, Ojapali, cleanliness drive, etc.
The president and the secretary of the celebration committee have appealed to all the devotees and religious-minded people of greater Gobaradal area to participate in the puja mahotsav in order to make it a grand success.
