Kalam to attend school function in Duliajan

DULIAJAN, Dec 18 � Former President of India and scientist par excellence, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam will attend the inaugural function of the golden jubilee celebration of Oil India Higher Secondary School as the chief guest on January 25 next year here at Duliajan.

Stating in a press communique, Oil India Higher Secondary School, owned by nation�s second largest oil major, Oil India Limited is embarking on the 50th year of its inception on January 10, 2012. And to mark the occasion, the premier educational institution has planned a year-long golden jubilee celebration programme.

The inauguration of the golden jubilee celebrations would start with school�s flag hoisting followed by a colourful cultural procession on January 10 which has happens to be foundation day of the school. On January 25, former President Dr Kalam would attend the inauguration function followed by cultural programme by the present and staff on January 26. A nostalgic reunion of the ex-staff and ex-students with the present staff would be held on January 27.

Prior to the golden jubilee celebrations of the Oil India HS School, the school has already launched its website www.oilindiahsschool.in and the golden jubilee celebrations committee has requested the former students of the institution to visit the website and register their names for the nostalgic reunion.
