Kalam appeals to students to imbibe confidence

DULIAJAN, Jan 28 � On the sidelines of the inauguration of the golden jubilee celebrations of Oil Higher Secondary School on Saturday afternoon, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam addressed a gathering of 5,000 students and general public at Delhi Public School, Duliajan before leaving the oil township today.

In his address, Dr Kalam appealed to the students to develop confidence and made them take the oath, �I can do it, we can do it, India can do it� and follow the philosophy of �what one can give and to feel pleasure in giving pleasure to others.� Dr Kalam also asked the students to take the oath �to be a good member of the family, good member of the society and a good member of the country� besides answering questions of a few selected students. Dr Kalam also appealed to the students to plant five saplings and contribute towards making the planet greener.

Earlier this morning, the former President also addressed officers of Oil India Limited at the Zaloni Club auditorium in which he spoke on the nine pillars for success of energy sectors of the country out of which he stressed on creative leadership as the need of the hour.
