GUWAHATI, Dec 11 - The annual North East One Act Play Competition of socio-cultural organisation Jyotirupa will be held at Rabindra Bhawan here from January 27, 2016.

The five-day programme will begin at 4 pm every day. In its 37th edition, this contest has been acting as a platform for amateur theatre artistes to showcase their talent.

Those groups interested to participate in the contest will have to submit their application, script and admission fee of Rs 300 to Ashim Kumar Deka or Sikha Bhattacharya at the Assam Tribune office by December 31. The Kishore Thakuria Memorial Mono Acting Contest will also be held simultaneously.

On the other hand, the 8th Singha Purush Radha Govinda Baruah Memorial Full Length Drama Festival will start at 6 pm on February 24, 2016 at Rabindra Bhawan here.

The five-day festival will introduce theatre lovers of the city to the experimentations and thematic variations of the theatre movement.
