Judicial remand for scribe

GUWAHATI, July 24 � Journalist Gaurab Jyoti Neog, an accused in the July 9 molestation incident, was today remanded to judicial custody by the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kamrup.�

Advocate Bijon Kumar Mahajan and advocate Arshad Choudhury appeared on behalf of Neog, whose three days� police remand�ended today.

Earlier, members of Broadcast Editors� Association met the journalist in the court premises and took stock of the incident. The team met the Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and is also expected to meet former Editor of�News Live Atanu Bhuyan, who resigned following the incident.

Meanwhile, Amarjyoti Kalita, the prime accused in the incident was produced in Varanasi court in Uttar Pradesh today and is likely to be brought to Guwahati tomorrow.

An Assam police team�is camping in Varanasi. A team headed by SP (City operations) Ranjan Bhuyan, who is also heading�the Special Investigating Team, left for Varanasi to take custody of Kalita.
