Jubilee celebration of Nemutengani Tribal School

DHEMAJI, Nov 11 - Nemutengani Tribal High School, which is a premier higher educational institution of Dhakuakhana sub-division and was established in the remote Garpara village in 1992, has stepped into its 25th year of glorious functioning. Hence, the school has resolved to celebrate its silver jubilee with a year-long programme. Coinciding with the school�s annual sports event, the opening ceremony of the silver jubilee function was held with a five-day programme starting November 2.

The celebration began with the ceremonial flag hoisting at 7-30 am by Binod Dutta, Headmaster of Nemutengani Tribal High School. It was followed by smriti tarpan and sapling plantation. Then sports and literary competitions were subsequently organised. On the second day, various cultural competitions were held. The wall magazine of the school titled Binodan was released by Debajit Boruah, Assistant Teacher of Nemutengani Girls� High School. A one-act play competition was held on the following day.

On the fourth and concluding day, the opening ceremony of the year-long silver jubilee celebration of the school was inaugurated by Thaneswar Bora, science teacher of Harhi Higher Secondary School with ceremonial lighting of earthen lamps at 11 am in the midst of a large gathering.

In his speech, Bora lauded the good performance of the school over the years, including HSLC pass percentage. He wished grand success of the silver jubilee celebration with the full cooperation of the general people of the area.

Addressing the ceremony as appointed speaker, Lohit Saikia, Headmaster of Nemutengani Girls� High School highlighted the duties of the students to establish themselves in the hectic present-day competitive world. In this regard, he also spoke about the liabilities of the teachers and parents in guiding their children properly.

In the ceremony, 13 meritorious students of the school who passed the last HSLC examination in the first division were felicitated with phulam gamosa and a citation. The ceremony was conducted by Golok Chandra Bora, former president of the school management and development committee.

Earlier, the objectives were stated by Binod Dutta. It may perhaps be pertinent to mention here that the closing ceremony of the year-long silver jubilee celebration will be held in the last part of December 2017.
