JSF tells people to urge PM for strict population control law

GUWAHATI, Dec 23 - The office-bearers of Jansankhya Samadhan Foundation North East Chapter (JSF NE) today urged the people of Assam to appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to enact a strict population control law by making a call to toll free number 1800-11-7800.

The toll-free number was launched by the Central government through which anyone can give advice or input to the Prime Minister for his �Mann Ki Baat� programme.

Addressing a press conference here, actress Aimee Baruah appealed to the Prime Minister to enact a population control law to make India a powerful nation.�

Additional Superintendent of Kalapahar COVID Hospital Dr Raktim Tamuli also advocated the need for such a law, and lauded Jansankhya Samadhan Foundation for coming up with this initiative. He also stated that rising population has already started making its impact on the government and private hospitals in the State, putting additional pressure on doctors in terms of the increase in volume of patients.
