TINSUKIA, Dec 21 - The 6th Inter District Junior (Boys) Hockey Tournament for the Nalini Kanta Dohotia Trophy got underway at the Tinsukia District Sports Association�s (TDSA) Katchujan field here today.

The tournament has been organised under the aegis of Assam Hockey Association (AHA) and supervised by the TDSA in cooperation of Samannya Sangha.

Altogether 16 affiliated units of the State hockey body are taking part in the championship.

The inaugural function of the tournament was attended by the AHA vice president Jagadish Rajkonwar, secretary Tapan Das and joint secretary Ajit Kalita. The Smriti Torpon programme was initiated by Dr Brojen Gohain, president of the organising committee. The tournament will conclude on December 23.

Today�s results: Nagaon beat Duliajan 1-0, Hojai beat Kawimari 6-5 via tie breaker, Morigaon beat Cherekapar 1-0, Kaliabor beat Bongaigaon 3-0, Silchar beat Makum 1-0.
