JORHAT, Nov 14 - The road from KB Road to Sonaru Path here has been named after Samarendra Rajkumar who was a leading architect of the State and a keen sports lover.
Samarendra Rajkumar was associated with several organisations like the Jorhat Swimming Society, Jorhat Tennis Club, Jorhat Stadium, Kushal Konwar Indoor Stadium along with several other sports, educational and social organisations.
As per the request from Jorhat Tennis Club the road was named after Samarendra Sarma by the Jorhat Municipal Board and the road was inaugurated by the local MLA Hitendra Nath Goswami on November 12, stated a release issued by Jorhat Tennis Club.
