Jorhat District Health Society awarded

JORHAT, Feb 9 - The Jorhat District Health Society was awarded for being the best district by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, besides Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma at the ASHA and NHM convention organised at Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati recently.

A district administration source stated that the prize was given to the Joint Director of Health Services for successful implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Surokshito Matrito Abhiyan last year.

Aerobatics in the sky: As part of diamond jubilee celebrations this year of the 43 Squadron of the Indian Air Force, which is also known as Ibexes, the Surya Kiran team of the IAF performed aerobatics in the sky over the IAF Station here at Rowriah recently.

The hour-long programme enthralled the gathering, comprising IAF personnel and their families, with various breathtaking acts of aerobatics by the Surya Kiran team.

The Air Devils team of the IAF too performed skydiving and delighted the audience with several spectacular actions in the sky.

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa, accompanied by Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command, Air Marshal R Nambiar, Air Officer Commanding, Jorhat Air Force Station, Air Commodore SK Verma, General Officer Commanding 41 Sub-Area, Jorhat, Major General Harinder Singh along with other senior officials witnessed the event.
