GUWAHATI, May 17 The Cotton College placement cell is all set to provide students with more opportunities of employment, with the confirmed presence of a number of companies who are looking out for fresh recruits.

In the coming days, the cell expects the footfall of a large number of students who would be tested by industry majors such as Wipro BPO, SBI Life, Vedanta Aluminium, Google and Genpact, to name a few.

The teacher in-charge of the placement cell, Dr Archana Goswami told this newspaper that Google and Genpact would conduct campus recruitments on May 19 and 20. On the first day the tests would start at 10 am and on the next day they would commence from 10.30 am. This is for the first time that Google would recruit students in the city, she added.

All those who are appearing in the undergraduate and post-graduate final examinations as well as pass-outs can apply.

Wipro technologies, another IT major, has evinced interest to conduct campus recruitments, and interviews will take place on June 3 this year.

Another industry leader, Vedanta Aluminium will conduct walk-in interviews in June for students who have appeared in their BSc final examinations. The same month would also see the presence of Reliance Retail, IBM Daksh, Infosys BPO which will carry out campus placements.
