JMCH celebrates foundation day

JORHAT, Oct 20 - Participating in the meeting of 7th foundation day of Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH), Jorhat MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa today said that doctors and supporting staffs of the hospital should dedicate more to create a patient-friendly atmosphere inside the premises as common people expect more from them.

As the patients of Jorhat and its neighbouring districts prefer JMCH for better treatment, the staffs have vital responsibility to serve them well, he said.

Stressing the importance of maintaining cleanliness and better public relation inside the premises of JMCH, Jorhat Deputy Commissioner Virendra Mittal hoped that the hospital would be able to fulfil the expectations of the people the doctors and staffs dedicate themselves for better service.

The JMCH organised a walkathon in the city this morning to sensitise people about the importance of walking for maintaining a good health, which reduces the risk of heart diseases.

It may be mentioned that the JMCH authority has already taken up some measures which are expected to generate feel-good ambience for all sorts of patients, attendants and the medical staff inside the hospital campus.

Retired Justice of Supreme Court, Justice SN Phukan, principal of JMCH Professor Debajit Hazarika and doctors and staffs of the hospital also attended the programme.
