J&K declare at 460 for 5

GUWAHATI, Dec 27 - On the penultimate day of the four-day Elite Group C Ranji Trophy match at the Gandhi Memorial Science College ground in Jammu today, hosts Jammu and Kashmir declared their first innings at 460 for the loss of five wickets against Assam.

At stumps, Assam were 22 for no loss with Rishav Das and Rahul Hazarika at the crease with 9 runs each.

Assam bowlers failed to hit form again as barring Roshan Alam, who took three wickets, other bowlers were punished all round the wickets. J&K batsmen Subham Khajuria and Abdul Samad were in commanding form and both cracked tons. While Khajuria scored 138 (off 180 balls, 4x21, 6x1), Samad hammered 103 (off 72 balls, 4x7, 6x8). Samad was in scintillating form as he smashed all the Assam bowlers from the initial stage.

Now Assam batsmen have to bat the whole day tomorrow in order to save the match without conceding a first innings lead.
