Jharkhand CM contributes Rs 5 cr as flood relief

GUWAHATI, Sept 7 - As a mark of solidarity to the flood affected people of Assam, Jharkhand Government under the leadership of its Chief Minister Raghubar Das, contributed Rs 5 crore to the Assam Chief Minister�s Relief Fund today.

Minister of Social Welfare, Women and Child Development Dr Louis Marandi and Minister of Health Ramchandra Chandravansi handed over the cheque on behalf of the Jharkhand Government to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal this evening at Assam Administrative Staff College here. The ministers also conveyed Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das� goodwill to Chief Minister Sonowal and lauded Government�s efforts in dealing with recent waves of floods in the State.

Chief Minister Sonowal also expressed his gratitude to Jharkhand Government for sympathising with the people of Assam at this time of crisis, said a press release here this evening.
