DIGBOI, Jan 24 - A jawan, Rakesh Kumar was killed when suspected militants ambushed Army personnel in the Nangtaw Khamti area of Namsai district of Arunachal Pradesh this morning.
Army sources said the sudden attack was carried out near a culvert on the road when the security personnel were returning to their base after conducting a counterinsurgency operation in a nearby area.
Sources added that a fierce gun-battle followed between the militants and the Army personnel in the nearby thick vegetation in which a militant also sustained serious injuries.
