JORHAT, April 3 - A Mizoram Police jawan reportedly committed suicide with his service rifle at the Borpathar-based camp in Golaghat district last night.
A police source said that the jawan shot himself with his service rifle at the camp near the APDCL office at Borpathar town. After hearing the gun shot, other jawans and officers of the camp rushed to the area and immediately admitted the injured jawan in the nearest hospital, the source said.
However, the doctors declared him brought-dead. The deceased jawan has been identified as Lalthing Hima. Investigation is on.
