GUWAHATI, April 4 - Javed Ali Khan of Railways clinched the Mr Saraighat title in the 29th Mr Saraighat RG Baruah Memorial All India Classic Body Building Championship held at the ITA Centre here last evening.
A Boby Singh and N Sarbo Singh, both also from Railways secured the second and third position respectively in the highly competitive championship.
On the other hand, in the Asomiya Pratidin Mr Saraighat Assam Competition the top three winners were Subhadeep Baidya of Jorhat, Subhankar Das of Hojai and Nabajit Das of Assam Police respectively.
The championship, organised by Saraighat Gym in association with Assam Body Builders and Fitness Association, was inaugurated by Kumar Gaurav, chairman, Assam Farmers Producer Co-operative Society Ltd while the souvenir was released by Bhaskar Baruah, additional general manager, Tourism Department.
Balbir Singh from IBBF and other national judges conducted the meet.
Agriculture Minister Atul Bora gave away the prize to the champion in the closing function. The winner received a cash award of Rs 1,25,000 along with the trophy and other gifts.
The top 10 position holders are: 1st Javed Ali Khan (Railways), 2nd A Boby Singh (Railways), 3rd N Sarbo Singh (Railways), 4th Kiran Patil (Railways), 5th Mahendra Chawan (Maharashtra), 6th Anuj Kumar (Services), 7th A Senthil Kumar (Tamil Nadu), 8th Ravinder Mallik (Services), 9th KH Pritam (CRPF), 10th Vikram Yadav (UP).
