TINSUKIA, July 4 � Nrityacharyya Padma Shri Jatin Goswami was warmly felicitated by several organisations of Tinsukia recently.

At a function held on the occasion of inauguration of the two-day cultural festival of the Akhara Ghar Natygosthi, a socio-cultural organisation at its premises at Bordoloi Nagar here, the Nrityacharyya was felicitated by the socio-cultural organisations Nrityangan Kala Kendra, Tinsukia district branch of Sahitya Sabha, Lekhika Samaroh, Sanskritik Samaj, Tinsukia, people of Chaliha Nagar, Bordoloi Nagar etc.

Overwhelmed by the felicitation, Goswami stated that he had been associated with Tinsukia for nine years till 1966 when he left Tinsukia and he hoped that Tinsukia would prosper in cultural activities more as the days come by. The function, presided over by Bhupen Gogoi, was also attended by Pulak Chetia, vice-president, All Assam Students� Union.

A month-long workshop of drama, Bihu and Satriya Dance is being organised from July 1-31 by the Akhara Ghar Natygosthi.
