By City Correspondent

GUWAHATI, Aug 15 - In keeping with the governments emphasis on work culture among employees, biometric attendance system is being introduced at Janata Bhawan shortly, a statement said.

The system will record attendance of all employees, from the officers to Grade IV staff.

The biometric system will be the same as has been successfully implemented at the Central Secretariat and will be Aadhaar-enabled.

The Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) will consist of a fingerprint recognition device, which will be used by every employee by punching in the last eight digits of his or her Aadhaar number.

The statement further stated that groundwork has already been completed for installation of the devices in every department and with every senior officer in the rank of Secretary and above. Wi-Fi connectivity for all devices has been established while the process for procurement of both the wall mounted and fingerprint devices have been initiated.

Once the entire system is in place, real time information about the attendance amongst the employees of all departments of Janata Bhawan can be monitored by the higher authority, the statement added.
