AGARTALA, Feb 27 (PTI) - The Jamiat Ulema is totally against all forms of terror or Muslim fundamentalism, President of the All India Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind Kari Syed Usman Saheb said today.

He said it was a misconception that terrorism was being harboured by Madrasas or Jamiats.

"The Jamiat has always been trying for national integration and peace. Terrorists have no religion, caste or creed, they should be treated as threat to national integration", Syed Usman told reporters.

Syed Usman is here along with Mufti Rafikul Islam, member of West Bengal Jamiat Ulama secretariat, to study the socio-economic condition of minorities in Tripura.

Pointing at the backward socio-economic condition of the minoroties in the state, Rafikul Islam said the Left Front government should take due measures to economically uplift the minorities.

He also demanded implementation of the Ranganath Mishra Commission's recommendations which strongly advocated 10 per cent reservation for minorities in government services, education and in Assembly.
