Jairam takes stock of projects� implementation

NAGAON, Oct 26 � Union Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh today visited Samaguri LAC to take stock of implementation of different schemes funded by his ministry in Bajia and Lawkhua blocks of the constituency.

The Union Minister expressed satisfaction at the progress of construction of IAY houses, roads under PMGRY schemes, as well as MNREGA works.

He assured that there would be no dearth of Central funds for development of Assam. Ramesh praised State Minister Rockybul Hussain for his efforts and hoped that he would succeed in leading Assam to the goal of achiving rural development.

Ramesh addressed two meetings � one at Bajia gaon and the other at Lailuri.

Principal Secretary of the ministry, Prem Kumar, and Joint Secretary Avinash Joshi have accompanied Ramesh on this tour.

Besides Rockybul Hussain, DC Dr M Angamathu and SP Surendra Kumar were present when Ramesh was taking stock of the projects.

The Union Minister will declare a special package for Assam tomorrow after a discussion with Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and he said this will be a Diwali gift for the people of the State.
