TIHU, Oct 31 - The people of Bhaluki near Tihu and its adjoining areas are all set to celebrate the 77th Sri Sri Jagadhatri Puja Mahotsav with religious fervour at the Jagannath Mandir with a five-day programme starting on November 4.
Several programmes have been lined up, including installation of the idol of the Goddess, flag hoisting, swahid tarpan, ayatir naam contest.
Preparations for celebrating the Puja Mahotsav are on in full swing. The Puja Mahotsav will be inaugurated by Thaneswar Malakar, former DC of Barpeta district. Other programmes like tree plantation, bursting of firecrackers, dance contest, drawing contest, go-as-you-like contest, quiz, and cultural nite are also part of the celebrations.
On November 5, a play under the aegis of the Bhaluki Natya Gosthi titled Chandramukhi will be staged under the direction of Rajen Das. Popular singer Akhil Bhairab will take part in the cultural nite on November 7.
