By Sports reporter

GUWAHATI, Oct 11 - Assam captain Gokul Sharma, who aimed for maximum points on the eve of the Rajasthan match, fulfilled his dream as his team collected seven points from the match with an innings and 152-run victory.

It was the day of the Barpeta duo as the pacers from the town Krishna Das and Arup Das made it one-sided against their fancied opponents who cornered three points against Delhi in their previous match.

Along with Krishna and Arup, KV Arun Karthik played a vital role in Assams thumping victory, said a jubilant Gokul. He also credited the fielders who were in superb form.

The Assam captain, who looked quite aggressive against Karnataka and Rajasthan, said, he will apply same strategy in all the remaining matches where the team has to face countrys top teams. He also hoped that with such form Assam may hope a berth in the knockout stage from the Group A.

The Assam Cricket Association president Gautam Roy along with secretary and other officials congratulated Gokul and his team for the tremendous show. The Assam Ex-Cricketers Association also hailed the team for their victory.
