GUWAHATI, Sept 14 - The Kamrup Metro district administration recently organised a meeting at the Deputy Commissioner�s office here to discuss various issues relating to elderly persons in the city, as well as matters pertaining to the society at large.
The meeting was chaired by Dr M Angamuthu, Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro, and attended by representatives of senior citizens� forums, Zila Sainik Board and Bharat Scouts and Guides of Kamrup Metro district.
Addressing the meeting, Dr Angamuthu said the administration was committed to putting up a forum at the district level to register all genuine issues relating to elderly persons.
He requested the members of the senior citizens� forums present at the meeting to highlight the general issues concerning them so that such matters could be taken up both at the district and higher levels whenever necessary.
The participants at the meeting suggested formation of an advisory committee to register and address various issues relating to the forums.
