Isharani, Ayan bag sub-jr badminton crowns

IMPHAL, July 29 - Assam�s Isharani Baruah bagged the U-17 girls title in the Yonex Sunrise All India Sub-junior (U-15 and U-17) Ranking Badminton Tournament which concluded here on Saturday while the U-17 boys title went to Pranav Rao Gandham of Telangana.

The week-long tournament which started on July 21 was hosted by Manipur Badminton Association at Khuman Lampak Indoor Hall under the aegis of Badminton Association of India.

In their final matches, Isharani beat�Kriti Bharadwaj of Karnataka 21-15, 8-21, 21-15 for the girls title. Pranav Rao defeated�Shubam Patel of Rajasthan in straight sets 21-12, 21-17.

Assam�s�Ayan Rashid pairing with�Tasnim Mir of Gujarat managed to win the U-17 mixed doubles title beating Delhi pair of Advit Bhargava and Navdha Manglam in the final while Sathwick Reddy K of Telangana and Swetaparna Panda of Odisha beat�the Tamil Nadu pair of Nathan Shieh and Nardhana VR to win�the U-15 mixed doubles title.

In the U-15 boys singles, Raghav from Haryana overpowered Lakshay Sharma of�Punjab�14-21, 21-14, 21-18�while Tara Shah of Maharashtra won�U-15 girls title beating Tasnim Mir of Gujarat�21-13, 22-24, 21-15. Lokesh Reddy (Telangana) and Ankit Mondal (West Bengal) were crowned U-15 boys doubles title defeating Tonmoy Bikash Boruah (Assam) and Lakshay Sharma (Punjab) 21-17, 21-14.

Tamil Nadu pair of Hariharan Amsakarunan and Ruban Kumar R clinched�the U-17 boys doubles title defeating Ayush Patnayak (Odisha) and Suhas V (Karnataka)�21-12, 21-18.

The U-15 girls doubles title went to Gnanadha Karthikeyan and Sania Sikkandar (Tamil Nadu) who edged Andrea Sarah Kurien and Pavithra (Kerala) 21-15, 19-21, 21-13 in the final.
