TEZPUR, April 4 � Registering a strong protest against the utter mismanagement and the alleged failure to attend to the needs of the customers, nearly 100 infuriated customers and common people of greater Bandarmari and Khelmati area locked the Khelmati branch of the State Bank of India on Wednesday.
The protestors alleged that the branch which has been running its business as an agricultural development branch (ADB), giving priority to the farmers in the greater business area through various schemes, has failed to work for the real beneficiaries.
The protestors who kept the bank locked for about two hours, unlocked it after negotiations with the higher authorities who promised to look into their demands.
