GAURIPUR, Sept 8 - Hundreds of irate public blocked the NH 31 at North Raipur under Golakganj PS today for several hours against miscreants allegedly throwing beefsteaks near the historic Ma Manasa Mandir located at North Raipur along the NH 31. They also set ablaze a truck carrying a number of cows and trapped the driver, cleaner and another three brokers who were said to be involved in the crime.
Hundreds of trucks were seen stranded on both sides of the highway.
On receipt of the information, police and civil officers arrived at the spot and pacified the irate public. They also assured the agitating people to arrest the culprits involved in the heinous crime and were able to clear the blockade later. The police also took away the driver, cleaner and the brokers to the police station for interrogation.
It may be mentioned here that such an incident had also occurred on the same premises of the temple a month ago but no arrest has yet been made. Enlighten people of the locality severely condemned the incident and warned the section involved not to disturb the communal harmony and peace in the area.
