By The Assam Tribune

Tehran, June 7 (IANS): Armed men have opened fire at the Iranian Parliament and the shrine of Ayatollah Khomeini here on Wednesday, the Iranian media reported.

At least one gunman fired shots inside Parliament, wounding a guard, the reports said.

There were also reports of a shooting at the mausoleum of Ayatollah Khomeini, the founder of the modern state, the BBC reported.

Meanwhile, the Islamic State has claimed responsibility for a double attack on Iran's Parliament and the shrine to Imam Khomeini in Tehran.

Both attacks were carried out by the terror group, said the IS-affiliated news agency Amaq.
