IPF threatens indefinite bandh from Aug 13

By Correspondent

HAFLONG, Aug 5 - If the Indigenous Peoples Forum (IPF) People is not invited for talks at Dispur as promised by the Minister before August 12, it is going to launch an indefinite bandh from August 13. This was communicated to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal by a letter through the Deputy Commissioner on Thursday.

The letter signed by the president, L Kuki, working president, S Jeme and general secretary, V Varte maintained that during the visit of the Group of Ministers (GoM) at Haflong, Dr Himanta Biswa Sharma had promised to invite the members for a discussion in this regard.

But with utter dismay and disappointment, the invitation for talks did not materialise in spite of the readiness of the IPF community. Previously the same thing had happened as Dr Sharma had failed to meet them even after his promise.

They also earnestly urged him to consider the case and decide accordingly.
