IOC move to tackle LPG shortage

By The Assam Tribune

GUWAHATI, March 19 The bottling capacity of LPG at Indian Oil Corporations plant at Sarpara has been augmented with an investment of nearly Rs 1 crore, stated a press release.

In place of 12 filling points, it has been augmented to 18 points with a provision of 24 point filling machine in future. As a result, bottling capacity has been increased from 6000 cylinders per day to nearly 8500 cylinders.

Due to commissioning of the system, there may have been some shortfall in the market, although some portions have been redressed by bringing in additional loads from Bongaigaon bottling plant. The system is running with full capacity from March 18, the release added.

Following the augmentation of bottling capacity it is expected that supply will be regularised within 24th of this month and that pending bookings are expected to be liquidated by March 24.
