International Day for PwD observed in Manipur

IMPHAL, Dec 3 - International Day for Persons with Disability (PwD) was widely observed in Manipur on Sunday. The State level function was held at the Indoor Stadium of Khuman Lampak sports complex.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister N Biren Singh reiterated that the BJP-led State Government is trying to reduce the hill-valley divide, adding the government doesn�t discriminate any community in the State.

He also launched the �Chief Minister-gi Shotharabasingi Tengbang� (CMST), a State Government scheme to facilitate the PwD for their meaningful participation in contributing towards the creation of socio-economic wealth and overall welfare of the State. The scheme also aims to provide quality of life to the PwD and to bring inclusive development in the State. He also assured new schemes/initiatives for the children living in orphan homes soon.

Deputy Chief Minister Joykumar and Social Welfare Minister Nemcha Kipgen also spoke in the meeting.
