AIZAWL, March 22 � Mizoram Finance Minister H Liansailova today presented an Interim Annual Budget for 2012-2013 in the Assembly to seek a vote on account for the first four months of the next fiscal amounting to Rs 1,663.12 crore.
The minister informed the Assembly that as the Planning Commission failed to finalise the State Plan outlay for 2012-2013 till date so he could not present the regular Budget. The minister also informed that because of this, the Plan commitments and developmental initiatives of the government for the time being could not be highlighted.
Liansailova also presented the Supplementary Demand for 2011-12 amounting to Rs 783.33 crore. Though he did not propose any new tax or increase the rates of taxes, the Finance Minister emphasised the need for generation of resources for the government.
