GUWAHATI, Jan 24 - As part of the forthcoming diamond jubilee celebrations of the Assam Tribune Employees� Union (ATEU), an interactive session with the correspondents of The Assam Tribune and Dainik Asam and the agents and distributors of the newspapers and magazines published by the Assam Tribune Group of Publications will be held at 2.30 pm on January 27.
PJ Baruah and Munin Bayan, executive editors of The Assam Tribune and Dainik Asam respectively, Dilip Chandan, Editor of Asam Bani and the office-bearers of ATEU will also participate in the interactive session.
The correspondents and agents will have to register their names by 2 pm. The ATEU said in a statement that although formal invitations have been sent to all the agents, distributors and correspondents, in the event of them not receiving the invitations, �this appeal should be treated as invitation.�
On the second and concluding day of the celebrations, another interactive session with newspaper hawkers will be held at 11 am.
The diamond jubilee celebrations will get under way on January 27 with its formal inauguration by Justice Ranjan Gogoi of the Supreme Court of India at 10.30 am. The celebrations will be attended by MS Yadav, general secretary of the Confederation of Newspaper and News Agency Employees�' Organisation, educationist Dr Amarjyoti Choudhury and Media Adviser to Chief Minister Hrishikesh Goswami.
