SIVASAGAR, April 20 - The 14th All Assam Inter Industry Veteran Football Tournament got underway at the ongc Colony ground here today under the aegis of ONGC, Assam Asset in association with the Assam Veteran Association.
On the opening day of the championship Coal India defeated BVFCL, Namrup 4-1. Jitul Chetia of Coal India was adjudged best player.
Earlier, Oil India beat Jorhat Electricity Board 5-0. In the inaugural match, host ONGC beat Maibela Thermal 3-0.
Tomorrow, Assam State Electricity Board, Guwahati will face Oil India in the 1st semifinal.
