Inter district chess gets under way

GUWAHATI, Dec 17 - The 39th edition of the All Assam Inter District Open Chess Championship was inaugurated at Diphu today by Roop Singh Teron in the presence of Mukul Gogoi, Deputy Commissioner, Karbi Anglong; Debojit Deuri, Superintendent of Police; Biswajit Bharadwaj, secretary, All Assam Chess Association (Adhoc Committee) and Umesh Chandra Teron, president, Karbi Anglong Chess Association among others.

Altogether 84 players from various affiliated districts of Assam are participating in this official selection event from which the top 4 players will qualify to represent Assam in the Nationals.
