JORABAT, Sept 27 - A team led by Kamrup ADC Dr Khitish Pegu conducted a daylong inspection of restaurants and dhabas located at Sonapur and Jorabat today. The drive was aimed at checking the quality of food items and hygiene standards.
The inspection was done to ensure that the food items being served are safe for consumption in the wake of the Durga Puja festivities.
Sonapur Circle Officer Dr Dhruva Jyoti Hazarika, along with the in-charge of Jorabat Police Outpost, Partha Pratim Gogoi, assisted Pegu during the inspection drive at Jorabat and the adjoining areas.
Pegu instructed the restaurant and dhaba owners to refrain from adulterating food and using artificial colours. He warned that strict action would be taken if the instructions were ignored.
