Industrial investment in State Rs 7,160 cr

GUWAHATI, March 28 - The State has received investments worth Rs 7,160 crore in the industrial sector since the BJP-led government assumed office in Dispur.

This was stated in a written reply to the Assam Legislative Assembly today by Industries and Commerce Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary.

He said that work on land acquisition for the proposed �Twin Tower Trade Centre� in the Beltola locality of Guwahati is going on and work on actual construction of the structures will be started soon.

The project cost of the Twin Tower Trade Centre will be Rs 1,947 crore. The project will be undertaken in a self financial model in conjunction with the NBCC. The project is expected to be completed within five years and it will have a built-up area of 2.05 lakh square metres.

Among the facilities which will be available at the Twin Tower Trade Centre are convention-cum-exhibition centre, offices, seminar and meeting rooms, shopping mall and food courts, cinema halls, auditorium, hotel, residential apartments, museum, service apartments and amphitheatre, Patowary said.
