Indo-Sino conclave

SHILLONG, Dec 10 - The Indian Institute of Management Shillong held a Indo-Sino Conclave in partnership with Institute of Chinese Studies here today.

Amitabha De, IIM Director, in his welcome address said China has made huge changes in the last three decades and it�s clearly evident from the Chinese model, that power comes from economy.

Former diplomat Kishan S Rana sharing his experiences of his visits to China said the Asian giant has changed from a tightly restricted country in 1960s.

He said that it is important from the Indian perspective to understand the cultural and socio-economic aspects of a country like China, for its development. Alka Acharya, Director of Institute of Chinese Studies mentioned about the commonalities between Indians and Chinese in terms of family values and upbringing.
