DIMAPUR, Sept 16 - The working committee of the Naga national political groups (NNPGs) on Sunday said the ongoing Indo-Naga political negotiations were not confined to Nagaland State alone.
According to the NNPGs, the political negotiation and the settlement is meaningless if Nagas and their ancestral territory in Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam are left in its present form in all aspects. The six Naga political groups include GPRN/NSCN, FGN, NNC (Parent Body), NPGN/NNC (NA), NSCN (R) and NNC/GDRN (NA).
In a statement, the groups said they had conveyed to the Centre�s interlocutor RN Ravi in crystal clear terms that the political agreement would not sustain until and unless Nagas in Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam are made absolute masters over their ancestral lands and resources, natural or manmade, conforming to history and political right.
The statement said the NNPGs do not believe in isolating and ignoring Nagas outside the State of Nagaland.
The working committee, the statement said, believed that the Nagas across �artificial boundaries� must entrench their rights and attain historical, political, cultural, economic and social progress on equal footing through the agreement.
It said the working committee and the Government of India on November 17, 2017 signed an �agreed position� upon which the Indo-Naga political conflict would be settled. The working committee also said if anyone claims that there will be only one political talk, that is with the Isak-Muivah group alone, �he is either living inside a zoo or plain foolish, incapable of grasping reality�.
They said the government of India will have to recognise the Naga identity, history and political right in absolute clear terms. �Nagas must find a solution in consonance with contemporary political realities,� the statement added.
The NNPGs also alleged that there has been a recurrence of kidnapping, abduction and confinement of Naga national workers by NSCN (IM) at its Hebron camp in recent times.
The working committee of the six Naga groups demanded that all the �national workers� detained at Hebron camp be released immediately unharmed �lest misunderstanding arises among the Nagas and consequences become too high a price.�
