ITANAGAR, April 12 - Indian Ambassador to Myanmar Vikram Misri called on Arunachal Pradesh Governor PB Acharya at Raj Bhavan here on Wednesday. They discussed on strengthening the improved relationship between India and Myanmar through North East India.
The Governor, while reiterating Prime Minister Narendra Modi�s vision for the development of Northeastern region through �Act East� policy, said that India and Myanmar can be purposeful and natural friends as they share common traditions and religious practices. With a clear vision, we can have stronger relationship, he observed.
The Governor emphatically said that people of the region must come above their personal agenda and strengthen the social environment. Road communication and more people-to-people interaction must be established between the two countries.
Sharing his experiences in the region since 1968, the Governor expressed that people from the region must present the ground realities of NE in Delhi.
Acharya, who is also the Governor of Nagaland, disclosed that he is proposing for establishment of a medical college cum hospital near the border area between Nagaland and Myanmar.
The country�s Myanmar envoy, who is on a tour to four Northeastern States of Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram which share international border with Myanmar, shared his observations on important issues including free movement regime with the Governor.
