NAGAON, Sept 8 � Second Assam Special Reserve Force (ASRF) of Karbi Anglong entered the second round of the Independence Day Cup Football Tournament defeating Nagaon Sports Association�s league champions Star Sporting Club by a clear margin of 2-0 goals in the inaugural match at the Nurul Amin Stadium here today.
Former Santosh Trophy player Bijoy Kowa declared the meet open in a brief ceremony where Assam Football Association secretary Ankur Dutta and official Manoj Patra were present as guests along with the Nagaon Sports Association officials.
Dwipen Teron put the ASRF ahead in the 30th minute, while Kivi Zhamo enhanced the margin in the 74th minute.
