In-house journal of North East Writer�s Forum released

GUWAHATI, Dec 27 - Veteran journalist DN Bezboruah today released the annual in-house journal of North Eastern Writers� Forum New Frontiers at a programme held at the forum�s office here.

The 10th edition of the journal has well-known poet Robin Ngangom as its chief editor.

The journal comprises short stories and poems by writers and poets, many of whom, over the last two decades, have become established writers and poets in their own right and who continue to be vibrant members of the Forum. Some of the poets and authors who feature in New Frontiers 2020 are Arup Dutta, Mamang Dai, Mona Zote, Robin Ngangom, Desmond Kharmawphlang, Tashi Chophel, Guru Ladakhi, Anjum Hasan, Tarun Bhartiya, Monalisa Changkija, Nitoo Das, Namrata Pathak, Chetan Shrestha, Sukla Sinha, Lalnungsanga Ralte, Cherrie Changte and others.

The cover design is by Pankaj Thapa of Sikkim, a cartoonist of international repute. As a fresh initiative by the forum, an online journal, with the same name, will also feature on a bi-annual basis under the same editorial team, beginning January 2021 to accommodate those who also seek a platform, the Forum�s secretary Dipanjol Deka said.

Among other who were present at today�s programme were the Vice Chancellor of Royal Global University Dr SP Singh and former bureaucrat and writer Dhruba Hazarika.

North East Writers� Forum (NEWF) was established in 1997 by a group of writers who write originally in the English language and hail from the eight states of the north- eastern part of India. The Forum�s twin primary objectives relate to encouraging creative writings in English as well as translations of creative works from the regional languages to English and vice versa.
