NEW DELHI, Aug 11 - Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain on Saturday said that he was a victim of conspiracy to malign him.
Talking to newsmen at his residence here this morning, Gohain said that similar kind of conspiracies were hatched in the past also against him but only during the elections.
�Every time, I am about to contest elections, such conspiracies are plotted against me. This happened in 2016 and 2011 as well. Now, again this has started. Investigation is under way. The truth will be revealed soon,� Gohain said.
The Union minister, who did not interact with the media but merely gave a statement, hinted at the possibility of a blackmailing plot against him.
The Assam Police had registered a case against Gohain for allegedly raping a 24-year-old married woman in Nagaon district. Gohain has also filed counter complaints of blackmailing against the woman and her family.
