DHUBRI, Dec 7 - With the assistance of Dhubri Police, a joint armed Excise raid was carried out in different locations under Dhubri Excise Circle under the direct supervision of the Superintendent of Excise, Dhubri, recently.
Illicit liquor along with 1,700 kg of fermented wash were seized during the raid. The huge quantity of fermented wash along with some 65 litres of illicit liquor were seized at Bidyardabri under Golakganj Police Station.
It may be mentioned here that fermented wash is used for making country liquors illegally, police informed. In another raid, a small quantity of illicit liquor was seized from a household at Kaimari.
Two separate cases were subsequently registered in this connection and two persons apprehended.
