IITG�s annual festival Techniche under way

GUWAHATI, Sept 1 - The 19th edition of IITG�s annual techno-management festival Techniche got under way on Thursday.

Techniche has been a platform to showcase the latest inventions, exhibitions and technological advances from all over the globe. The student teams organise a plethora of events and competitions all designed to make the participants step outside their comfort zones and challenge the institution of conventional thinking.

On Thursday, the inaugural ceremony of Techniche in the institute auditorium was attended by Air Officer Commanding, Air Commodore Shashank Mishra, Air Force Station, Borjhar as the chief guest.

The session started with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Dean of Student Affairs Prof Chandan Mahanta; AOC Borjhar, Mishra and Animesh, convenor of Techniche along with other officials from the IITG administration.

The keynote address was delivered by Brooks Moore, host of �How It�s Made� show from the Discovery Channel. He shared his bits of personal life � his interests in piano, photography, horses and his experiences of being in radio and television stations.

The night ended with a solo performance by artiste Dhruv Vishwanath, who is one among the top 30 �under 30� guitarists. He performed some of his own composed tracks with relatable lyrics in his own voice and entertained the audience. The event will conclude on September 3.
