By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, April 21 - An IIE Haat was relaunched on Friday by Manoj Kumar Das, Director, Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) in presence of Yad Ram, Principal Technical Officer of Central Glass & Ceramic Research Institute, Khurja.

The Haat aims to give market exposure, especially for terracotta products of the Chapar Terracotta Cluster, Dhubri, which the IIE is planning to develop under SFURTI Scheme of the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Government of India.

This Haat will be run jointly by IIE and North East Pottery & Terracotta Research Centre, Dhubri.

The terracotta products have a huge demand for utility and decorative purposes, which needs to be promoted. This can be a viable livelihood activity in the northeastern region, Das said.

The Haat was earlier launched by IIE on January 5, 2016 and inaugurated by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

Unfortunately, a portion of the Haat was demolished during widening of the East West Corridor. The same has been revamped and relaunched on Friday.
