IMPHAL, Oct 29 - Despite heavy security measures taken up in and around the busy Imphal town, a powerful bomb, believed to be an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion rocked the State capital on Saturday.
The incident took place at a lane barely 100 metres from City police station here around 7.30 am, police said.
However, there was no human casualty in the explosion. Glass windows of the first floor of a building and a car were damaged due to the impact of the explosion, they added.
Police and bomb experts rushed to the blast site and inspected the area. No armed groups operating in the State has claimed responsibility for the explosion.
