Idd-uz-Zuha celebrated with traditional fervour

NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Sept 25 - Along with the other parts of the country Idd-uz-Zuha, the festival of sacrifice of Muslims was celebrated with religious fervour and traditional gaiety. Special prayers were held in mosques and idgahs for the victims of Haj stampede.

In North Lakhimpur people could not pray the idd namaaz at the Town Idgah due to wet surface because of overnight rain. Idd prayers were held in various mosques in North Lakhimpur town, Leelabari, Kadam, Katori Chapori, Bodhakora, Moidomiya, Angarkhowa, Sensowa, Dhakuwakhonia, Bilatiya, Phukanar Haat, Charaimoria, Bogoleejaan, Dejoo, Rampur, Silaneebari, Laluk, Nowboicha, Bihpuria, Harmutty and in Dhakuwakhona.

Nagaon: A festive mood prevailed here and people gathered in different idgahs to offer Idd prayers.

At Nagaon town Quari Ali Ahmed Foorkani led the special prayer and Hazi Azimuddin explained the significance of the day. The people gathered prayed for world peace and harmony. In other idgahs of the town special prayer for Idd-uz-Zuha was held where local people took part.
