IMPHAL, June 3 - With an objective to combat childhood mortality due to diarrhoea, the Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) 2018 was launched across Manipur recently.

The IDCF programme will continue till June 9 next. State Health and Family Welfare Minister L Jayentakumar, Health Services Director Dr K Rajo, JNIMS Director Dr Th Bhimo, National Health Mission Manipur Director N Bandhana and others attended the launching programme at JNIMS here.

During the fortnight, intensified community awareness campaigns on hygiene and promotion of ORS and zinc therapy will be conducted at State, district and village levels. The National Health Mission Manipur is targeting to cover at least three lakh children during the fortnight long programme.
